About Lean Industries
To be the leading authority on automating disputes, so every client knows the experts are on their side.
Twenty years of dispute expertise behind every case, so no client faces a dispute alone.
Lean Industries builds dispute management software for financial institutions, and nothing else. Since 2005 the company has worked one problem: disputed payments, consumer-initiated and acquirer-side, card and non-card, fraud and non-fraud. That experience is built into AdjustmentHub, the company's dispute platform, in use at issuers, acquirers and processors in North America, Europe, South America and New Zealand.

What we build
AdjustmentHub, the enterprise dispute platform, with NetworkHub inside it for the network connections. It was built for disputes, not adapted from a general workflow tool. It runs end-to-end dispute workflows for debit, credit and prepaid cards and for ACH, bill pay, wire, ATM, cheque and Zelle. It integrates with core, processor and document systems and connects natively to Visa VROL and Mastercom.
Explore the platform →Where our expertise sits
Four areas, each with work in production behind it.
Network rules
Visa and Mastercard dispute rules: cases filed through Visa VROL since 2016 and Mastercom since 2017. Lean also connects to the NYCE, Pulse and STAR debit networks.
Regulation
Regulation E and Regulation Z. Investigation windows, provisional credit timing and documentation requirements are configured into the workflow. The first Regulation E deployment went live in 2009.
The dispute desk
The team includes people who have run a dispute department. The director of business analysis ran a bank's dispute department before joining Lean. The head of professional services has worked on dispute management at Lean for eighteen years.
Card and non-card
Card disputes and non-card claims such as ACH, wire and Zelle, each worked under its own rules on one platform.
How we work
We work each deployment from requirements through implementation, training and ongoing support. We publish what is in production, what is audited or certified, and what a named client has measured. We do not publish what we cannot show.
What we hold to
- Dedication
- Integrity
- Excellence
- Confidence, with humility

Security and independent audits
SOC 2® Type II report, issued July 2026: independently audited controls. Audit reports and certifications are listed the week they are issued, with a note on what each covers. See Security & trust.
History
Lean Industries was founded in 2005 on one observation: disputed payments were treated as back-office housekeeping, and the people on both sides of a dispute paid for it in time, money and trust. The company has worked that one problem since. In January 2022 Lean joined Jonas Software, a Constellation Software company, which gave it long-term ownership and group resources while it kept its focus and its team. Today Lean is part of Vertus Group, a division of Jonas Software, under Constellation Software (TSX: CSU).
The Lean User Group
Since 2010 the Lean User Group (LUG) has brought clients and the Lean team together in person to work through what is changing in dispute management: network mandates, regulation, and what each institution has learned in production. Held annually, it is where clients and the Lean team compare what has worked in production.
